Our Story
AL-Delicacy was born from a simple conviction: Nigerian food is among the best in the world, and it deserves to be treated that way.
Not rushed. Not apologetic. Not buried in a delivery app alongside a hundred other options that all taste the same. Proper Nigerian food — jollof that takes the time it needs, egusi that simmers until the oils rise, suya that earns its smoke over a real flame.
Why We Started
We grew up eating the kind of food that stays with you. Party jollof that turned up at every owambe and every naming ceremony and every Sunday table. Pounded yam that held together in the bowl. Catfish pepper soup that cleared the head on a rainy evening.
When we looked for that food as young professionals in the city, we kept coming back disappointed. Either the quality was inconsistent — great the first time, different the second — or it felt like fast food dressed up with a filter on social media.
We decided to be the answer we were looking for.
What We Stand For
Every dish that leaves our kitchen is made the same way, every time. Same recipes. Same sourcing. Same standard. We do not take shortcuts on the things that matter: the seasoning, the timing, the quality of the base ingredients.
We believe the test of any Nigerian restaurant is simple: does it taste like someone who knows the food actually made it? That is our standard.
Where We Are Going
We are starting with one kitchen and one mission — to be the best Nigerian restaurant online. From there, we are building toward a national presence: Benue State, Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt. One city at a time, the same standard in every location.
AL-Delicacy is not just a restaurant. It is a statement that Nigerian food belongs at the table it has always deserved.
